Day 4 – 361 Days Left

So four days into the new year and so far, so good.

As part of my journey of wellness, I am making an attempt at being more organized with my personal schedule, as well as my family’s schedule. To this end, I have purchased a 12-Month Organizer wall calander. I spent several hours filling in days off, office days, doctor appointments, cub scout activities and planned time off. It’s hanging on the wall and with a glance I know what events are coming for the year! I like it!

Another decision I made, with my husand, was to purchase a travel trailer. We love to camp and being active in Cub Scouts with our son allows us many opportunites to enjoy this activity. We also live in the western, central part of California where there are numerous places to camp within 100 miles. With this purchase, we want to make an effort to get the most from our investment so we are planning trips right away. I can’t tell you how much easier it is to do that with the year calendar up and all known dates filled in.

So far so good – got another 5 miles under my belt since the last post and still eating right. I know it’s gonna take alot of forethought to stay on this path during travel times – that is my biggest concern at the moment. I have a few weeks to try and figure it out.

2013: 365 Days of Wellness

As an almost 40 year old, it is time to start seeking wellness in every aspect of my life.  So my theme for this year is 365 days of wellness.  I have had fits and starts at trying to achieve wellness physically and mentally, but just a small change in the daily routine or getting a sniffle and my efforts were blown.

The New Year is traditionally a time of new beginnings.  We all make the same tired resolutions to lose weight, be kinder, spend less, save more and 30, 60 – or if you’re really disciplined – 90 days later, we’re back to being “us”.  This year I hope to make myself more accountable with this online diary of my efforts.  Let’s see how long it lasts.  My goal is to chronicle my daily effort of achieving wellness by being real and sharing my challenges and accomplishments.

I’m curious – how many of you are using the New Year to make changes in your life?

Today, so far, I am on the right track.  I walk/ran 5 miles and have eaten healthy.  I haven’t raised my voice and actually sat down and started the blog I have had sitting here for months 🙂

Anyway, off I go on this journey…..thanks for reading.
